Here are simple step by step instructions on how you can make a ham sandwich of your own. This will take approximately 5-10 minutes.
Materials Needed
Sliced Bread
Butter
Butter Knife (x2)
Sliced Ham
Lettuce
Mayonnaise
Mustard (Optional)
Tomato (Optional)
Sliced Cheese (Optional)
Cutting Board
Plate
Step 1. Bring out all the required items and place them on your counter or table.
Step 2. Lay 2 slices of bread onto your cutting board.
NOTE: Be sure to wash your hands with soap and warm water before doing this.
NOTE: Close up the bread bag to prevent the bread from going stale when done.
Figure 1- Example of the cutting board you should be using.
Step 3. Butter the side of one piece of bread that is facing up, using the butter knife.
Step 4. Using the clean butter knife spread a small amount of mayonnaise on one side of the other slice of bread.
Step 5. With the plain sides of the slices of bread facing down, place 1-3 leaves of lettuce onto the buttered slice of bread.
NOTE: First wash the head of lettuce under cold running water to get dirt off. Even after you’ve taken 2-3 leaves off the head of lettuce, rinse them again them once more. Dry lettuce with a cloth or paper towel.
Step 6. Take 2-5 slices of ham and place on the same slice of bread the lettuce is on.
Step 7. Using a sharp knife, like the one provided in the diagram below, slice the tomato so each slice is about ¾ of a centimetre each. Cut as many slices as you would like for your sandwich.
NOTE: If you do not like tomato, skip this step and move to the next one.
WARNING: KNIFE IS SHARP! BE CAREFUL AND CUT SLOWLY!

Step 8. Apply mustard onto either slices of bread. If your mustard is in a jar, use one of the butter knives to scoop and spread the mustard onto the slice of bread with just the mayonnaise on it.
NOTE: If you do not like mustard, skip this step and move to the next one.
Step 9. Place 2-6 slices of cheese onto one of the two slices of bread.
NOTE: If you do not like cheese, skip this step and move to the next one.
Step 10. Take the bread slice with the mayonnaise and place mayonnaise side down onto the other slice with the other ingredients on it. Place the completed ham sandwich onto a clean plate and enjoy!
Once you have completed these steps, you have successfully completed making your ham sandwich. If you are still confused at the outcome of your sandwich, here is an example of what a ham sandwich looks like.
